(MINNEAPOLIS) – March¬ 5, 2010 – Meet Minneapolis, the Official Convention + Visitors Association™, has named David Knoll to the newly formed position of vice president of Finance and Administration.
In this position, Knoll will direct the financial and operational affairs of the organization. He will be charged with financial management procedures, preparing financial statements and reports and also manage the Human Resources, Information Technology (IT) and Accounting departments.
“David’s skill set is one that is uniquely fitted to match Meet Minneapolis’ finance and administration leadership needs,” said Melvin Tennant, CEO and president of Meet Minneapolis. “In addition, his skill of setting and implementing strategic plans and long-term goals will be a significant asset to us as we position Meet Minneapolis for future successes.” Tennant also remarked on what made Knoll stand apart from the rest: “Throughout the intense rounds of interviewing, we were particularly impressed with David’s professionalism, range of skills and diverse background.”
Over the course of his career, Knoll has gained expertise and experience in accounting, finance and administration management in both private and public companies. Most recently, he was controller for BridgeFunds, a litigation finance company. Previously, Knoll was division controller for Barrett Moving & Storage/United Van Lines, following three years as the owner/president of his own Mayflower Moving agency.
From 1998 to 2003, Knoll served as director of Finance & Administration, vice president and chief operating officer for Irresistible Ink, a division of Hallmark Cards that focuses on direct marketing. In addition, he has extensive experience in IT management, human resources and benefits administration, all levels of banking and treasury management and holds an MBA in venture management.
