Season Opener

Welcome summer at the May Day Festival in Powderhorn Park. Bright colors, bands and huge puppets celebrate summer's arrival at this unique annual event.

Minneapolis Mosaic
The mission of Minneapolis MOSAIC is to "celebrate the richness and diversity of the arts and cultures of Minneapolis through a summer-long celebration." Help kick off the festivities June 5: with over 40 live entertainment acts, a visual art exhibit, food from the Midtown Global Market and interactive kid activities, it's a night you can't miss!

Edina Art Fair
View the work of more than 375 artists and enjoy children's activities, fashion shows, great food and lifestyle demonstrations at the annual Edina Art Fair, June 4 -6 on 50th & France.

Stone Arch Festival of the Arts
Enjoy the sights and sounds of historic St. Anthony Main at the Annual Stone Arch Festival of the Arts, June 19 - 20. Evening highlights include 250 juried artist booths, live music performances, 4 performance stages including live music performances, a beer and wine cafe, Youth Arts Quarter, Art of the Car Show and simply stunning views of the Mississippi riverfront.

GLBT Pride Festival
The third largest Pride celebration in the nation, this festival and parade boasts over 400,000 attendees each year. Held June 26 - 27, it features multiple entertainment stages, hundreds of exhibitors and vendors, fireworks and a lively, colorful parade.

Taste of Minnesota
Music is the main draw to this party. The annual Fourth of July weekend festival, celebrated on Harriet Island in Minneapolis, is fun for all ages: find an amusement park, children's theatrical shows, a nightly fireworks display, and--of course--food!

Minneapolis Riverfront Red, White & Boom
Celebrate our nations birth with spectacular fireworks in a beautiful historic setting; come cheer on the 4th of July with the Minneapolis Red, White & Boom family event along the beautiful downtown Mississippi Riverfront. Live music begins at 3:30, kids activities in Father Hennepin Bluff Park from 6-9 and fireworks start at 10 pm.

August Arts Weekend
The first weekend in August brings arty treasure: three award-winning art fairs, the Uptown Art Fair, the Loring Park Art Festival and the Powderhorn Art Fair set up shop. Catering to tourists, arts enthusiasts and the local community, all three fairs have their own personality. Find hundreds of artist booths, plus food, performances and fun. Better yet, climb aboard a Metro Transit bus and do an “art hop” to each fair—for free. August 7 – 8, 2010.

Last Hurrah

Kitsch meets cool at the season's last party: the Minnesota State Fair. With animal barns, tractor displays, butter sculptures and more food on a stick than you can imagine, it's a true Minnesota experience.

Basilica Block Party
